Amy Winehouse’s father: “Lady Gaga would be great in a biopic of Amy”

Amy Winehouse’s father thinks Lady Gaga would “be great” in a biopic of the late star’s life.

Amy passed away in London last year following an alcohol binge. She was 27 and her father Mitch has repeatedly suggested he would like a movie of her life to be made. Gaga has previously been linked to the film, a suggestion Mitch is keen on.

“There will be a biopic. Lady Gaga is welcome to audition for the part of Amy – she would be great. Ray Winstone will probably end up playing me,” he told Heat magazine.

Gaga has previously praised Amy for opening the door for unconventional singers, saying she is the reason stars who don’t “fit the pop mould” are now famous. As early as last year there were rumours the American star was being lined up to portray the singer.

“Lady Gaga worshiped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen. She’d be spot on performing Amy’s songs and has got the right look and bolshy attitude. Gaga’s been itching to make the transition from music into movies and sees this as the ideal role to launch her film career” an insider said.

Mitch is a big fan of Gaga and has even spoken to the flamboyant star’s mother. He claims the 26-year-old is just an everyday girl when she is at home.

“She is actually a very sweet girl,” he said. “Her mum tells me that when she gets home, there’s no lobster on her head – she just wears tracksuits and slippers and slobs out on the couch.”

Lady Gaga first on “World’s Best-Loved Eccentrics” British poll

Lady Gaga, who is as famous for her unique outfits as she is for her musical talent, has topped a new British poll of the “World’s Best-Loved Eccentrics”!

The 26-year-old became a sensation in the UK after donning steak dresses, telephone hats, and arriving at gigs enclosed in a giant egg.

Boris came in just ahead of heavy metal sensation Ozzy Osbourne, who took third place in the top 50 list.

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, takes fourth place in the study, as he has become renowned for his witty one-liners.

Tthe fifth most eccentric celebrity, as voted by Brits, is Russell Brand.

”British people tend to have a soft spot for anyone out of the norm – anyone who doesn’t conform to the ordinary,” the Daily Star quoted a spokesman for Nature Valley which conducted the poll of 2,000 British adults, as saying.

”This is why celebrities such as Prince Philip, Lady Gaga and Russell Brand are close to our hearts.

”More often than not, eccentric attributes are harmless and are actually part of the reason that we love nutty people so much.

”It is hard to dislike or be overly critical of anyone who is a bit nutty as they are often the most brilliant personalities,” he added.

SA National Editors’ Forum bans photos from Lady Gaga’s concert

There is a ban on free news media photography at the Lady Gaga Concerts in Johannesburg and Cape Town, with the organisers only making available selected publicity photographs. The South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) notes its concern at such a decision, which it regards as a form of press censorship, fundamentally in conflict with the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of media in South Africa.

A storm has erupted over a ban on all news photographers from covering Lady Gaga’s concerts at the Cape Town Stadium on Monday night.

In a statement on Thursday, the SA National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) said it was seeking an urgent meeting with organisers to reconsider the ban and allow news photographers “normal” coverage accreditation. The ban extends to Lady Gaga’s concert in Johannesburg on Friday night.

Sanef said organisers confirmed on Wednesday that no news photography would be allowed.

“It appears to be the first time that such a ban has been imposed and Sanef will be seeking an urgent meeting with the organisers to explain the negative implications of their move for media freedom,” Sanef Media Freedom Committee chairman Mpumelelo Mkhabela said.

The publicists for Big Concerts, Pamberi Communications, told the Cape Times on Thursday that they were given a mandate from Live Nations, Gaga’s management team, to not accredit any news photographers for the shows.

“This isn’t just for the Cape Town show,” said Pamberi publicist Gwen Ironsi.

“We were informed that this mandate was for all the shows globally, the company Live Nation will be supplying us with pictures for the shows,” she said.

News reporters have been given access to the concerts. Mkhabela said: “The only way the public can trust media coverage of such events is when journalists and photographers can operate freely. Previous accepted practice at such events has been for accredited news photographers to be allowed to take pictures during the first three songs and then withdraw.”

Sanef said Gaga’s visit had caused a buzz, with a number of religious groups and other organisations protesting against her presence.

“This makes her visit a matter of real public interest,” Mkhabela said.

Tourism, Events and Marketing director Anton Groeneweld was unable to respond by deadline.

Big Concerts’ chief operating officer John Langford declined to comment.

Meanwhile, the FNB Stadium is on lockdown ahead of Friday night’s concert and excitement levels have reached fever pitch among the star’s “Little Monsters”, who are flooding social networks with posts of costumes they’ll be wearing to mark the occasion.

Gaga herself, who arrived in the country on Tuesday night with an entourage of 200, reportedly needed seven vans to carry her costumes from Lanseria Airport to an undisclosed hotel.

After landing and being greeted by more than 300 screaming fans who had been waiting at the airport’s international arrivals terminal, Gaga took to social networking site Twitter.

“I’m so happy that I was able to see my fans at the airport in South Africa. Thank u for all the time you waited, I appreciate and love you. X,” she tweeted.

Roads will be closed around the FNB Stadium when Lady Gaga performs there on Friday night, Johannesburg metro police said.

The Soweto Highway would be closed between the N1 and Mentz Road from 6pm until midnight, spokesman Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said on Thursday.

Nasrec Road would be closed between the N17 and Rand Show Road.

Concert-goers were advised to park in Shareworld Road and at Nasrec. About 65 000 people were expected at the concert.

ARTPOP Revolution Theory

One of the GagaFreshNews members, Kon has wrote and interesting theory about the ARTPOP revolution that we believe you would be interested in reading.

July 24, 2012 Lady Gaga – “I call what I do ARTPOP coz I’m like a painter with the way I think about music.”

ARTPOP is the music that Gaga has been making since The Fame Era. Her music is full of Pop and Art. Her music is called ARTPOP. “My ARTPOP could mean anything.” See what that means? It means that her music could mean anything. It means that her music and her songs can be about a load of different things. And now, years after she’s going to give us the best of her ARTPOP.

“ARTPOP is the new revolution in Pop Music.”
Did anyone ever wonder what this means?

Well,

Gaga wants to become the best. She knows that she can be the best. A revolution always makes you better. She wants to revolutionise Pop Music. She chose the world ARTPOP, because it sounds similar to PopArt. It actually is similar. PopArt was an ART MOVEMENT that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. The aim was a revolution through the portal of art. Gaga will revolutionise Pop Culture through music and art.

“I don’t want to sound presumptuous, but I’ve made it my goal to revolutionise pop music. The last revolution was launched by Madonna 25 years ago.” – Lady Gaga

“I like pushing boundaries.” – Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has been talking about her dream to bring the revolution for years. Back then at her first years she couldn’t really bring it. It was too early for her. She was not that famous. “Give me more.” “I want the Fame.” “Revolution is comig.”

Now that she is famous she is going to put out her best ARTPOP and finaly start her revolution. In fact she has already been revolutionising the pop culture, take for example her fashion.

Also:

(Parts of her quotes)

“Pop ate my heart. Like a beautiful monster.”

“He tore my clothes right off, he ate my heart and then he ate my brain.”

In those two quotes above she’s describing how Pop and Fame ‘ate her heart and her brain’. Her second album (EP) is called ‘The Fame Monster’. Gaga had explained that this album is about the bad side of Fame. However in the quote below she’s saying something different:

2012: “I ate his heart, then I swallowed his brain. If you don’t love me back, I’ll do it again.”

She took revenge and if people don’t love her back she will take revenge again.

“If you don’t love me back, I’ll do it again.” She is talking to the crowd. People don’t respect her and that’s why she will take revenge. With her revolution.

“Treat me like a clown, and I will become a vuitton brown.” – People are treating her like a clown and not like an artist that she is.

So now she will take revenge from Pop for taking her mind and from the crowd for not respecting her.

She will revolutionise Pop to avenge it.

She will revolutionise Pop to become the best.

She will revolutionise Pop to make everyone know that she is a true artist.

She will revolutionise Pop with ARTPOP.

ARTPOP. Get Ready For ARTPOP. 2013.

Lady Gaga loves to Google herself: “It’s part of her daily routine”

Lady Gaga reportedly enjoys Googling herself first thing in the morning as part of a “daily routine” that she takes in jest.

Mother Monster is said to not take the task too seriously but does make it the “centre point” of her day as she searches the web for stories written about her.

“No matter where she is in the world, Gaga will always be awake at 9am New York time so she can read all her Google alerts for the day,” a source told the Daily Star this week.

“She jokes it’s just part of her daily routine,” they explained. “It’s now become the centre point of her day.

As well as not taking the stories too seriously, Gaga was also said to be nonchalant about recent tabloid stories conceding her reported weight gain over the past few months.

They added: “People were calling her fat for weeks but she was thrilled as she was trending on Google.”

Lady Gaga donates $1M to New York and American Red Cross

Lady Gaga has donated one million dollars to New York and the American Red Cross for the Hurricane Sandy relief that hit the East Coast of USA.

To New York and The American Red Cross

Today I pledge 1 million dollars to New York & The American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy Relief. If it wasn’t for NYC: the Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman or artist that I am today. New York is relentless ambition, a drive to succeed, a place where there is a natural pursuit of diversity through compassion. Please accept this gift on behalf of myself, my parents Joe and Cynthia, and my sister Natali; with our deepest gratitude New York for raising us. Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help you rebuild yours.

Sincerely,
Lady Gaga and The Germanottas
